The Challenge

Convrg needed a product expert to help lead their product vision forward in the sustainability space.

  • Convrg Innovations creates tech solutions to reduce methane emissions, helping the environment and energy industry.

  • Their big product, EPOD, is a solar-powered system that cuts down methane emissions by up to 99.5%. It also proves these reductions with a digital record.

  • EPOD was the first product that really worked well and got popular. Now, Convrg wanted to make more products and increase sales in 2024 and after.

  • Convrg was also concerned with risk of bringing on the wrong person full-time.

The solution

Bring in a Fractional VP of Product

  • With the help of solace within a span of 2 weeks from initial conversations to Day 1, Convrg brought on a fractional VP Product to develop and lead the execution of a product iteration, design, and management process to actively identify and work on product evolution.

  • The contract was initially for 3 months and was thought of as a "try before you buy" approach - if the Fractional VP Product worked out well Convrg was going to bring them on full-time.

  • Convrg achieved its goal of defining the path forward for its product while minimizing the risk of bringing on someone full-time right away that may have not been the best fit for them.
